As a Speech Recognition Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in developing and improving our cutting-edge speech recognition systems. Your expertise will contribute to advancing the accuracy, performance, and user experience of our speech recognition software and applications. You will be responsible for analyzing, testing, and optimizing speech recognition algorithms, as well as collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement solutions that will revolutionize speech-to-text technology. The ideal candidate possesses a strong background in speech and audio signal processing, machine learning, and a passion for pushing the boundaries of speech recognition technology.
Responsibilities:
- Research, design, and develop state-of-the-art speech recognition algorithms and models.
- Conduct thorough data analysis, identify patterns, and extract meaningful insights to improve speech recognition accuracy.
- Collaborate with machine learning engineers, data scientists, and software developers to integrate speech recognition capabilities into existing and new products.
- Explore and implement advanced neural network architectures for speech recognition tasks.
- Create and maintain large-scale datasets for training and evaluation purposes.
- Work on data pre-processing techniques to handle noise, variability, and other challenges in real-world speech signals.
- Optimize speech recognition systems for latency, throughput, and resource efficiency.
- Conduct experiments and evaluation methodologies to measure the performance of speech recognition models accurately.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in speech recognition research and adapt innovative techniques to enhance the company’s products.
- Collaborate with customer support and product teams to understand user feedback and implement improvements accordingly.
- Assist in patent creation, whitepapers, and technical documentation related to speech recognition technologies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Ph.D. is a plus.
- Proven experience (2 years) in speech recognition research, development, and implementation.
- Strong understanding of machine learning algorithms, deep learning frameworks, and neural networks, particularly in the context of speech processing.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, or Java.
- Familiarity with popular speech recognition toolkits and libraries (e.g., Kaldi, CMU Sphinx, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
- Experience with handling large-scale datasets and data preprocessing for speech recognition tasks.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex challenges in speech recognition.
- Knowledge of signal processing techniques and audio feature extraction.

Preferred Additional Skills:
- Experience in developing speech recognition systems for multiple languages and accents.
- Knowledge of end-to-end speech recognition models and attention mechanisms.
- Familiarity with cloud-based speech recognition services (e.g., Google Cloud Speech-to-Text, Amazon Transcribe).
- Prior contributions to open-source speech recognition projects.
- Understanding of Natural Language Processing (NLP) techniques and applications.
